Embellished Sweater Business Casual Work Outfit

One trend that I have loved since it has started is intricate embellishments.  Adding rhinestones, jewels, or studs just makes any article of clothing feel more special and fun.  Doing this can also take a basic item, such as a sweatshirt, and turn it into something that is suddenly appropriate for so many more occasions.  A sweatshirt is something I would have never considered wearing to work, but I must admit I have worn a jeweled one with a pencil skirt there…it was comfy and dressed up all at the same time!

As I’m sure you’ve guessed, this week’s Glam and U by Kotex® Trends to Try Contest theme is intricate embellishments.  This is definitely my favorite trend so far. When deciding what I wanted to wear for it, I couldn’t resist picking up this gorgeous sweater.  According to the item description, this sweater has 227 jewels and stones that were hand applied to it.  The fair isle print is perfect for winter, and the colors of the sweater and jewels used are holiday ready.

This trend is one that can work for everyone.  My sweater is definitely very blingy, but you could always choose something more subdued if that is what works for you.  Although I do recommend trying something with a lot of embellishments, you may just decide you love it!

I’ve had this top on my J.Crew wishlist for a while now. I’m regretting not picking it up! Hopefully I can snag it at one of the after-Christmas sales!

I love this sweater. The pattern is so fun! I used to be afraid of jeweled tops with the embellishments falling off but they are so pretty that I can’t resist buying them.

The embelished sweater looks great! Its festive without being red/green. I am SO glad I bought that skirt a while ago, I’ve worn it so much!
