I’ve wanted a JCrew coat for years. The great quality and interesting color choices of their coats have always drawn me to them. I’ve ordered several over the past few years. However, year after year, they never fit me right! I think my issue is I’m somewhere in between their regular and petite sizing. I feel like I look like I’m swimming in the regular sizes…the arms and length are always way too long. Petite sizes don’t look proportionate on me, and the arms are way too short.
This year, I finally decided to try JCrew Factory to see how their coats compare. The JCrew Factory City Coat is the factory version of the JCrew Cocoon Coat. I was pleasantly surprised to find that these fit me much better! The quality isn’t quite as high as the JCrew version, but it is still high quality, especially for the price. The color selection also isn’t nearly as exciting, however this bright blue is great. I did need to size down several sizes to get a good fit, but I’m glad I played around with sizing and found something that worked. Petite sizing in the factory version still looked odd on me, regular sizing was the way to go.
So if you find that you are in between regular and petite sizing in JCrew coats, give the JCrew Factory versions a try. Hopefully you will have the same luck that I did!
